PWR (Power) field feedback required (UK)

Post by G0CUZ »

Some feedback is required on this issue as I will be making some small changes that will be influenced on how the power is entered into your logs - this applies mainly to the UK where for many years, a licence requirement was to record the output power in dbW and not in the conventional and globaly recognised 'Watts'

So, UK guys, do you...

Not enter power levels into the log, not now or never did?

Enter power levels in Watts?

Still enter power levels in dbW?

Have a log with mixed dbW and W?

Enter the power level with a pure number e.g. 10, 1000 or 10w, 1kw (etc)?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the feedback guys

If you require the TX power to be printed on the QSL labels, the following is feature is available in v5.4.4 onwards,
By entering in QSL Label 'red' text '@PWR' - the '@PWR' string is replaced by exactly what is in the power field, there is also now an option to convert Log field dbW into Watts (rounded) if required.
So a typical entry in the red line of the QSL Label would be...

"ICOM IC-706 @PWR W ANT Dipole", this would print like....

"ICOM IC-706 100 W ANT Dipole"

If this is not required, you need to do nothing.

This feature is NOT available on QSL Card printing

This topic is now closed.
