Is there any news on how to get all the spots checked using winpack interface.
It misses a lot of data here from the dxcluster using winpack.
Works fine using dxtelnet.
Has anyone found a solution to missing data etc

Probably only getting 50% of spots checked by logbook (if that)
If you view the cluster spots in winlog it is obvious that
a lot of the spots have incomplete data which results in winlog not being able to check them.
I dont think ther is a solution just incompatibility between the programmes.
I have raised this issue before and just thought someone might have come up with a solution.
The dxcluster interface works great with dxtelnet but like using winpack here.
This problem also occurs on 3 other PC,s which i use so is not uncommon.

Hi Ian,
I found the same problem when I was in the UK .
The only way around the problem I found was down loading
AGW Packet engine and running that with Winpack that solved
all problems of missed cluster spots.

Les seems to have hit the nail on the head, I am using Winpack with AGW Packet Engine so that's probably why I haven't noticed any missing spots. It all works FB here. Be aware that there is a new release of AGW out, November 2002, it only appears to be on one of his sites though: http://www.elcom.gr/sv2agw/inst.htm
Version number is 2002.18 (despite that it still says 2002.10 on the splash screen )

The only other thing that stops Winlog checking spots is the options you have set in the DX Cluster Options menu (maximise the DX Cluster window and hit the "?" Icon.

Are you using version 1.9 Ian? One of the prvious versions, 1.8 I think had a bug that caused this problem but Colin fixed it in the next release.

Hi Ian,
Apologies, I just did a detailed check of spots on Winpack vs what Winlog showed, you are correct, there is still a few missing, even when using AGW. I have emailed some data to Colin, will keep you informed on what we find.

Hi All

Using AGW should give a cure BUT you must ensure Winlog32 is receiving the spots directly from AGW as host and not Winpack, otherwise there will not be any difference, Winpack can still sit on top of AGW for any other purpose.

If you are using a TNC then set the TNC to KISS mode if possible.

At last....

Ive managed to configure my ts2000 tnc built in with winpack/agw/winlog 1.9

As colin states it works perfect...used PACCOM tnc on agw although the built in tNC in the 2000 is a Tasco.

Hope this helps anyone using this equipment

Yes I had the same problem with Winpack and Winlog32 Ver 1.9. I would get complete spots, partially complete spots and spots with no data in them at all. I am using a TS2000 with the built in TNC. I got a tip to try AGW which I have setup with a tnc type of paccom and this works a treat. I only monitor the cluster frequency at the moment, I dont make a connection to the cluster and I havent found a need to do so yet. Hope this is of some help
