latest satellite names

Post by va3cga »

good evening, still using this great program

I was trying to enter a contact for satellite FO-118 tonite and kept getting lotw errors
Upon inspecting the adi file I noticed the SAT_NAME missing
I edited the adi and put it in the lotw took it with out errors

UNEDITED ADFI FROM WINLOG32:

<RST_SENT:2>59 <RST_RCVD:2>59 <PROP_MODE:3>SAT <COMMENT:6>FO-118
<DXCC:1:N>1 <EOR>

AFTER EDITING:

<RST_SENT:2>59 <RST_RCVD:2>59 <PROP_MODE:3>SAT <COMMENT:6>FO-118
<SAT_NAME:6>FO-118
<DXCC:1:N>1 <EOR>

I suppose there are other new names but havent tried the others yet. I believe official naming was just completed a few days ago

thanks, great program

I will look into this and update the sat names in Winlog32 for the next version
Currently, these names are hard-coded into the software, may be better to have an external list that can be end-user updated in these circumstances, as there are likely more sats in the future.

thanks Colin
I think having the sat names in a table is an excellect idea, there seems to have been lots of launches lately

Bob, the latest version has the new sat. names, also the sat. names are in an external text file which can easily be edited if any new ones come along, which seems very likely.
