Yaesu Rig Control

Post by m1arf »

Hello all,

I have just tried to setup rig control in Winlog and find that there is no rigs to select in the Yaesu dropdown box.
I have an FT-817 and thought I read that it was now supported.
Any help would greatly appreciated.

Yaesu Rig Control

Hi all,

Just to clear this one up. I setup Winlog on a second machine and all works ok.
I completly uninstalled Winlog from my shack machine, removed the old directory and re-installed, copied my logs into the new directory and all working correctly. It must have screwed up on the ungrade but now ok.

Yaesu Rig Control

Post by G0CUZ »

hi Derek

Not sure why this problem occurred but the Rig list and info is pulled from the file "Rig.MDB" - it should be in the Winlog32\Data folder, older versions may not have had this file included in the install, older versions of Rig.MDB may have had some rigs missing from the list.

Anyway from your comments I think now all is OK.

Hi Colin,

Yes thanks all is working ok now.
I decided to give rig control a try but found the Yaesu box completely empty, I re-installed the latest version but the box was still empty.
A complete un-install and then re-install solved the problem.

Hi Colin

Regarding Rig Control.
I do not use it but on checking I also get no rigs listed under Yaesu.
Also when trying to select the Kenwood list I get a runtime error 8018 and Winlog shuts down.
All is ok on the Icom list.

I have looked into the Rig.mdb and all looks fine.

Running Winlog 2.7.11.

Thanks for a great program Colin.

The Kenwood rig control is working fine in the new build 11. Using a Kenwood TS-2000.

Yaesu Rig Control

Post by G0CUZ »

Hi Guys.

To clear this one up.....

It seems that the problem is with the previous version which did not have the Yaesu Rigs included in the Rig database as they were not supported at that time.

The install program is set to add the file only if it does not exist, the reason being that the Rig database also contains all the software memories for the rigs and if overwritten these memories will be lost - no big deal unless you have spent a week-end adding to all 240 soft memories!

So the answer is (especially if you live in down the West Country?)...

Delete the 'rig.mdb' file from the Winlog32\DATA folder and re-install v2.7.10 which will replace it with the latest file.

This is only of interest to those who use Rig Control from Winlog32 otherwise the above will be wasted effort!

If I add any other rigs to the list I'll try and find a better solution for future install routines.
