Hi

The User Database feature was added last year to enable you to add your own Award chasing database to Winlog32 with auto-updating from the 'User Field'.

The database format is flexible but must comply with certain rules and you will have to do this work yourself the results will be well worth the effort it takes and your database will update directly from the Log User field in the manner of the present Ancillary database set, together with viewing, sorting, querying, exporting, printing etc.

Full dertails on how to construct the database can be found in the Winlog32 help file under 'User Database'

Any such User database is NOT supplied with Winlog32 and any errors or updating is the resonsibility of the original author - not me, full credit belongs to the original author of which I shall publish here in these pages in the near future.

I will be glad to guide anyone contemplating making a user database for your particular award interest, but YOU will have to do the work, please do not ask me to make it for you.

Pete, M1SOM has sucessfully added two Awards to his User database, the Italian Provinces and the French Departments and he is willing to share this database with any other Winlog32 user, M1SOM is the author and I give him full credit for his work, you must contact him if you would like a copy of his User database (he is a forum member).

I would like information from any other Winlog32 users who have sucessfully added any award databases and are willing to share it with other Winlog32 users. I will publish this information on the Winlog32 web-site as it becomes available.

That is great news. It's always interesting if you can use your logging programme for award purposes.

With all the different rules it is not always easy to hold track of them.

With the help of Pete, M1SOM I have addeds some databases to the users field and it works fine. A great asset to Winlog32 in my opinion.
I will try to add a few myself (RDA, DOK, LHT) and let you know how it progresses. Don't hold your breath I'm not a PC buff but I can only try, hi hi.
One question though. Does the programme recognise more than one input in the user window like it does in the remarks winodw? Let me explain. I have 2 databases: french departments and french castles. I hear a station and the call is ok for both databases. If I put FRD D44 (departments) and DCFC 44-029 (castle) in the users database will it recognize and update both databases?

Hi

Winlog32 does only check one interest per entry into the 'user' field.

In most instances this will be sufficiant except in the case you mention.

I did look at the possibility of adding multi-checks for the user database from this field but this proved extremely difficult to implement.

I may look at this again when more guys are using this feature and computer speeds in the shack generally increase and can put up with the expected extra processing time on each entry.

Hi all,

I have added a few databases to the "users" databases. RDA(russian districts award)-AGCW(german CW club/awardprogramme)-BMA(belgian mill award)-HHC(holzhammerclub-german award/trophy).
Those who want the databases let me know I'll be glad to send them to you.

Hi all,

For those interested I have just finished with a new database called: BARLS. It is intended for the use of all you interested in U.K. Lighthouses.

It contains a complete list of all the lighthouses in the U.K with their references.

BARLS (http://www.g0sgb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk) and WAB (http://www.worked-all-britain.co.uk) have awards for which this list can be used .

Those of you that want the BARLS list, just send me a mail:

Hi Colin
Just want to thank You For Great Feature !
With the Encourage and Help of Peter ONL-5923 , I Started to Build My Own USER Awards Interests !
I Created So far the : SIA(Sicilian Islands) , and Fixed the SPIA Database .
Right now i am working on the DLD (DoK's) ,UIA(Ukrainian Islands) & RLHA(Russian LH's).

(under construction)...hi hi

I would like to make a Hollyland one too ...But.....thinking twice...that's Not so practice ...because of 3 reasons :

1. First--IF You'r a "Hollyland award Program" Chaser , You probably got the "Record and Claim Book"....So---...each qso will be copied there too....the award owner would not accept other kind of Records or Papers !
2. There is No source on the web for the squares ...so Copy/Paste cann'ot be done.
3.the Description of the area sometimes include about 7-8 Cities...it'll Not be logic to mentioned all ,and ofcourse Not a part of .

So...IF You Don't have Yet the "Record & Claim Book"...You should get it...tell me , and i will give You the address ...
That is just my 2c on that Subject...maybe i'll create it , after the DLD Is Done...

So....Again....Many Thanks Colin !

Rigards , 73 !

hi Guys,

Glad to see that you are making good use of this award chasing feature and congratulations to those who have sucessfully made their own award database(s) for their interests.

I know some such databases will be difficult to produce, as you know I made some myself and some were created before their was any resource on the internet available, for instance the U.S.County Hunters database (USCH), I had to manually enter 3000 plus Counties into this database...I've already been their!

I will be making a new page resourse on the Winlog32 site, to list all User award chasing databases that may be available from different sources, I will always credit the original author, so please continue to add the comments here or email me directly with any details and I will compile and publish a list.
Remember that you will need to keep a 'blank' database if you wish to distribute it to other interested users, as one filled with your own QSO's will not be so useful!

Unfortunatly I do not have any spare web space for the file(s), but if anyone does and has sufficient interest to collect and store the files, I will be very glad to add a link from the Winlog32 site, or if you prefer to keep your own database at your web-site (perhaps with further details) I can add a link to that too.

Keep up the good work and 'enjoy'

Heya Colin

Well , That's Excactly what I Miss Now...

I created Little DataBases So Far :SIA(Sicilian) , SPIA and Some more ...But--Now as I want to Get back To Finish the DLD(DoK's) , Jeez...I Got about 1700 Entries (Without the Sonder DoK's)....Is There any way Of Copy & Paste from the Web into the MS Access Table ?

At the Moment , i'm working on the UIA(Ukrainian Islands) and RLH(Russians LH's) , the First One , Got 'bout 350 Entries , I just Load them Manually Into the table...

But..The DLD......How Please I'm Doing This Not in the Manually way ?

I Just Tried Copy & Paste ...But when i pasted the data into the MS Table , it says that the Data is too long....hummm...i can understand that...
So....can You point me Please , How should i do that ?
I Got free time...But...Huh...1800 Entries.... ? :-/

Export ? Import ?...Hummm...I Tried that Too....maybe i missed some steps in Importing ?

After all My USER Data will be 100% Finished , i will Upload it to RapidShare Site , by Your Permittion ofcourse...

Have a Nice Weekend there !

73 !

Btw: IF Anyone Know a Link With all "Hollyland Squares" (Online Source) , Please let me know , and i'll make it , Though , i'm sure there isn't there...and besides --There's a "Record Book" Anyway, so get it.....
