Hi everyone
Just to say thanks to G0CUZ for his fine software program
Only drawback, apart from "nice to haves" is a lack of contest operational ability (auto-increment of serial numbers, etc. However more of that later.
Just to let you know I'm on board.

Hi,
I echo the vote of thanks to Colin for the great software package.
I would prefer that Winlog remain a general/DX logger which it is VERY good at. There are a large number of commercial (and quite a few free) contest loggers available that are very good at what they do. With the excellent ADIF import routine in Winlog, it is a 5 minute task to update Winlog with your contest efforts. What are your thoughts Colin?

Thanks for the interest guys.

Whereas I do not wish to turn Winlog32 into a full blown contest logger, as Geoff says there is already very good specialist contest software with which WL could not compete with anyway, but I feel that an auto-increment and insert serial number is not too much to ask for and hope to impliment this in the future. I will make it quite transparent for those who would not wish this option in their face!
Originally the old Super Winlog did have this feature, and was probably good enough for the odd 'point givaway' QSO's but there were some niggles with using the old feature, at least I found so in my odd excursions into contests and few people have requested a contest option with Winlog32 (probably the reason hi hi).
I will study awhile on this one before I start any coding thus hopefully avoiding my previous mistakes.
Any input to this topic will be useful, but please note that I have already decided that scoring/summaries etc., will be going beyond the present thinking for the reasons outlined above.

Hi Colin and everyone,

Sorry about the mistake for my first post. I did that in style didn't I

Very glad to have switched to Winlog about a year ago. With the help of Colin I could transfer my old log (Easiswl by G0MDO) to Winlog and it works perfectly.
If I am correct I am probably the only SWL using the programme for the moment, but I am sure others will follow.

My name is Peter, age42, and have been SWL since 1980. Listen on HF (RTTY CW SSB). Interested in awards, contests ans qsl's.
Other hobbies are visiting airshows and badminton.

Thanks Colin for the auto increment in contest operating. Of course it would be rediculous to try to emulate the proliferation of contest loggers currently availsable on line. For casual point give aways, your implementation is perfect. Thanks again. 73 de David, M0CNP

Hi,
Well not being into contesting really I am not fussy. Further to Peter's comment re: age. Yes, although I know a few young'uns, all around 15-18. We have 4 regular club members and two others locally, all with M3's (and other calls) except me... hey ho...

It's a pity that WinLog doesn't get used much now due to the fact that I am never on the radio, too much work with A levels at the mo'...

Bye for now, I shoudl really visit the forum more often.. :-)
