Hello all,
I am trying to use the rig control in WinLOG32 but seem to have a problem.
I am using a laptop with no serial output only USB. I have a cable USB to serial which I have used before with the Kenwood software ARCP-2000.
When using Winlog32 the rig control shows my Kenwood on Com4. I am not
sure if it says Kenwood TS-2000 because I input my rig type or if it somehow
has detected to too. Basically the rig and the software will not talk to each other I have match the baud rates none seem to work. Only one other thing the cable makes a rapid "clicking" noise (from the back of the TS-2000) never noticed this before... I wonder if anyone has any ideas ... or maybe even experienced the same???
I look forward to anyone who has the time to write a reply... Thanks

Hello Mark,
I don´t think that it is a software problem. I am a bit worried about COM4. Is there a way for you to check whether the TS-2000 is really connected to this port?
Other idea is just to try to the other COM-ports in the settings of rig control. Please tell the exact settings in the rig control. I have checked RTS and DTR, baud rate is 9600 and delay value is 10000000. But I am using a normal serial port.

Hello Mark.
I have hadf one other report (unbresolved) of a USB to Com port problem with Rig Control, not particularily on the Kenwood though.
I am not sure how sucessful or appropriate it is to emulate a com serial port from USB, I'm sure it requires setting up in Windows, but I have no experience of this.
Follow DL4KG's suggestion of disabling/enabling the RTS and DTR options in turn to see if these have any effect.
