Printing

Post by VK6CJL »

Hi All,
I have just installed Windows XP Pro after a major computer
crash. I have reinstalled Winlog 32 the log etc is all there and works
I have enabled all auto checks and settings that I use but ...........
I cannot print log , qsl or print search .In the file menu those 3
are not enabled .
The motherboard is a KM400-M2
The processor is a AMD Athlon XP 2500 with 256 DDRam and a 40 gig H/drive.
Any ideas anyone.
PS: In my log I have about 24 QSO's that have yet to be printed all have
in the qsl out box B

Hello Les

I am glad that you have resolved the problem.

The disabled printing options usually occur if there is not a printer driver installed or the printer is not set as a 'default printer', could well be that it was not properly installed until after a reboot and would explain the problem you found but went away after a reboot.

If you are printing through a network then you will still need the printer driver installed on the local machine.

Printing options are disabled when no printer is 'apparent' to Winlog32.

Hi Colin,
After all these years with Winlog32 I should have remembered to
install the printer drivers first instead of later..As soon as I read your reply
the penny had dropped.
There is one other problem I've discovered ( or I may be to late ) after reinstalling the WWV info. The graph etc shows only from the reinstall date
with a few months missing and also by the looks of it all the wyc info has been deleted but the wwv log goes back to May 2003 with a lot missing....Not sure if it's my error or not ?????? but other than that all works A OK

Thanks for the update Les.

The WWV info is contained in the "cluster.mdb" file, if you can salvage the file from your old installation, you should be able to restore it.
