Re-load log

Post by N1WL »

My Ham computer got fried by a power spike, so I need to take my lof which was backed up on a hard drive and put it on the newer computer.
Is there a process to do that with. I have well over 3000 contacts that were backed up to the slave drive and want to get them on the new computer and get back where I was

hi William.

Before you do anything make shure you have a secure 2nd copy of your log database!

Once you have installed Winlog32 on your new computer, use the RESTORE option, Menu/File/Maintenance, and follow the prompts.

If you have the file "Winlog.ini" on your back-up disk, shut down Winlog32, replace the existing one with the back-up. Don't do this with Winlog32 running.

The ancillary database set (DXCC/IOTA etc) will need moving too, look in the \Logs sub-folders to see where these need copying to on the new installation.
