WinLog32 version 2.6 dx cluster problem

Post by dh2id »

Hello Colin,

in the newest Version I have encountered a problem:

I always connect to packet dx clusters via winpack.
Works very good, I especially like the MS Access
compatible database structure.

What happens now with the new version 2.6 ist that
my dx cluster window remains empty.
Yes, I have checked band in the "add" window and
also "add to database" etc ;-). Whatever I
do, wheter I uncheck, check gain, try to change
the winlog.ini: no change...

Interesting, though, ist that "to all.." messages
get displayed, just no addings to database and cluster window.

Now what have I got to change, Colin? Or is there a nasty little bug somewhere?

73, Colin and thank you very much for your programming effort!

Alex, DH2ID

BTW I will be in Scotland (borders region) next week, just
hope the wx is not too much on the winter side, hi...

WinLog32 version 2.6 dx cluster problem

Post by G0CUZ »

Hello Alex

Not sure about the problem, I did not make any changes that should affect the Winpack DDE but I may be wrong, unfortunaely I do not have Winpack set up for packet to make any immediate checks.
I will have a look at the code and see if i can find anything, meanwhile if anyone is using Winpack<>Winlog32 and can confirm this bug?
You did not say from which version you have updated from, but if that was v2.5 then it would not matter anyway.

WinLog32 version 2.6 dx cluster problem

Post by dh2id »

Hello Colin, tnx fer ur reply.

I have updated from 2.5, running XP Professional.
I have tried everything, no ideas...

If I reinstall 2.5 -> everything works fine again, DDE works
with winpack. Version 2.6 aloner has the above mentioned problems.

WinLog32 version 2.6 dx cluster problem

Post by G0CUZ »

Hi Alex

Check in DXCluster Options that you have the 'Show HF Spots' and 'Show VHF Spots' enabled.

Please confirm that you have your callsign entered in
Menu/Options/Settings/Change user? If not this could be causing the problem and looks the the most likely cause.

If you have your callsign entered and you still have the problem then I will send you a debug file.

Colin,

Check in DXCluster Options that you have the 'Show HF Spots' and 'Show VHF Spots' enabled.

Yes, that's the first thing I checked for.

Please confirm that you have your callsign entered in
Menu/Options/Settings/Change user? If not this could be causing the problem and looks the the most likely cause.

Of course, as always. I have even erased then rebuilt the ini file, no
change...

If you have your callsign entered and you still have the problem then I will send you a debug file.

Thanks, Colin!

WinLog32 version 2.6 dx cluster problem

OK Alex
Please drop me an email and I will reply with file attachment if you able to accept files.

I will make some 'test' changes to the executable and see if that cures the problem, I will also see if I can do some more testing here over the week-end and see if i can find the bug.

As an after-though, please try changing you Windows international settings number format to "." decimal separator (probably set to "," with German language), this will provide me with some more clues if it works afterwards.

Hi Colin,

just saw your answer in Duns, Berwickshire.
I am staying with friends this week and shall
try out the improvement asap, which means next
week.
I had already changed to ".".

Alex

WinLog32 version 2.6 dx cluster problem

Post by dh2id »

Hi Colin,
I'm back. We had beautiful sunshine up in Scotland
and I even got a suntan!
Good news: WinLog32 V 2.6 build 3 works fine
again with dx cluster database and window. Thanks, Colin!
