Contact Info Box on Callsign Input Field error

The info box (auto-populated) shows every US contact entered as Washington, every JA as Tokyo. I don't know what this does to the database but it is annoying! Can someone advise how this can be corrected to show true info please? I cant find it listed in the help manual. Thanks, Chris.
