DXCluster Display uncommon problem

Post by G0CUZ »

Hi

Occasionally I have mail regarding incorrect alert display for DXCluster DXCC Worked/Band/Mode status.

Here is one uncommon problem with solution.

Effect: DXCluster display showing alert for a DXCC on band when known to be already worked and added to DXCC database - thus double-clicking on DXCluster Callsign will display Worked/Band/Mode status not corresponding to display.

Mode indicator types must not be mixed, thus if you are using IARU mode indicators A1A,J3E etc - do not mix these with SSB, CW etc. use one sort or the other.

If you think you have this problem then try DXCluster Option "Alarm Band - Allow mode checking" - disabling this function should temporarily correct the display.

Permanent cure is to remove offending 'Mode' from menu/Options/Settings/Custom Lists, and edit any existing 'wrong' modes in the DXCC database - easiest way is to 'Sort' DXCC QSOs by MODE field and manually edit.

Latest versions of Winlog32, have better functions to minimise the possibility of duplicate mode types during imoporting and when adding modes to the Mode list.

This is not a bug but an operational issue.
