Locator Map

Post by db5kn »

Hi Colin,
Good work, I use the SW since the days of WIN3.11!
As you know, I am very interested in the microwaves. Therefore the grid maps are rather useful for me. I defined the bands 50 , 144 , 432 , 1296 , 2320 , 3400 , 5760 , 10368 , 24192.
But I observe a funny thing when I want to disply the worked, confirmed etc. grids. It works well for the bands up to 1296, it works for 3400 and 10368 but it does not show me any grids worked for 2320 , 5760 and 24192.

Do you have any idea what I should change?
By the way, adding a distance list (with ODX on top) for each band would be great for statistical purpose! Thank you!

Thanks for the interesting comments.

It's great to hear that someone can work more than few sqaures at SHF!

The problem facing me at SHF, is the frequency allocations may not be the same world-wide, Winlog translates frequencies from a broad range of Log frequencies e.g. 2300-2500MHz to a single freq. band - "2300" when adding to the VHF database. In this example if you had entered the band as 2300 then the VHF locator query and display should work.

I have now amended the code so that the translations match the bands better and this should cure your problem, although I am not too familiar with SHF frequency band allocations, so you may wish to inform me?

As for 10GHz, all frequencies at 10GHz and above share a common query-display, but if you want me to include separate bands higher than 10GHz then let me know and I will add them, it's not much trouble but until now no one has mentioned it.
